Master Plan

The Edgewater Chalets are located on 2,640 acre Master Planned Community located in the Upper Ogden Valley surrounded by an abundance of recreation and spectacular views. The Resort is located on Pineview Reservoir with a planned village center with shopping, dining and lodging and over 76% of the Resort is dedicated to Open Space. Recreation

Locals and visitors alike enjoy skiing at Snowbasin, Powder Mountain, and Wolf Creek Ski Resort, whitewater activities and fishing along the Weber River, miscellaneous water sports on the Pineview Reservoir, as well as 18 holes of golf at Wolf Creek Resort. Of course the day to day activities of hiking, biking, swimming, running, etc. further accompany this outdoor environment.

Growth

The small townships of Huntsville, Eden and Liberty have seen record growth over the past few years due to the more recent demand for resort based real estate and its overall proximity to the big city. This is largely due to the facts of over 75 Million Baby-Boomers retiring in the next decade, as well as increased property values in surrounding areas such as the Wasatch County (Heber City), Park City and Salt Lake Valley seeing record increases throughout the past few years.

Growth can also be contributed to the exposure that the 2002 Olympic Winter Games brought to the Upper Ogden Valley including Snowbasin Ski Resort which hosted the Men's & Women's Downhill, Combined Slalom and Super G events.

Quick Facts:

Huntsville was founded in 1860 by Jefferson Hunt. Huntsville was incorporated in 1903. The first mayor was L.M. Nelson. A city hall was built, as was an electric lighting system, extending from the dam in Ogden Canyon to the city. Nelson's home is still standing and is on the Utah Historical Register. (At one time it was a restaurant known as the "Valley House."). On December 18, 1909, Huntsville was disincorporated because the City was bankrupt.  Also interesting is the fact that originally Huntsville was incorporated as a City, but was reincorporated as a Town in 1924.  The differentiation is based on population.
